Welcome to the website of the Western Australian Institute of Taekwon-Do.
Before you enter anything new you are likely to come across areas of uncertainty and this is especially so in the field of martial arts. The purpose of this website is to provide answers to some of those questions and to give you some idea of who we are and what you can expect from training in Taekwon-Do with WAIT’s professional team of instructors.
WAIT’s Commitment
It is our commitment to assist you in achieving the goals that you have chosen for your training, and you are to be complimented on taking a very positive step in your personal development and physical well being.
Our instructors work hard to ensure your progress in Taekwon-Do is a continually rewarding experience. We strive to improve ourselves in much the same way we aid our students and it is this passion for continual development that has brought our academy international acclaim and attracted various associate organisations in the United States, Scotland and Ireland.
Our commitment to our members has extended to our curriculum. As it is today, WAIT’s curriculum has been developed and refined over more than a decade, with continual consultation and support from leaders in a range of fields including Education, Sports Science and the globally renown Taekwon-Do Masters that form the Technical Committee of the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).
A Special Note to Parents
One of the nicest and most commendable things a parent can do is to involve their child in a martial art. The study of a martial art at a reputable academy can increase a child’s confidence, self control and respect for others as well as provide a great resource for their fitness, sporting efforts and personal development. Taekwon-Do’s disciplined environment can also substantially enhance your child’s concentration which is of considerable benefit both at home and at school.
Because of your child’s reliance on you, I encourage you to be as dedicated to your child’s training as they are themselves.
We hope that you find this information useful and that it provides you with answers to any queries you may have. Naturally, if you have any further questions our professional team is always happy to help assist in any way.
